Hackers made a good impression with me by dropping the right names (with references to devils and dragons), and having the right attitude (anarchistic). But the plot leaves a bit to be desired. Dade Murphy (Jonny Lee Miller) is found guilty of computer crime as a 11-year old and is on probation until his 18th birthday. He transfers to a high school in New York City, where his hacking skills, under the name of Crash Override, earn him the respect of his peers. Well, most of them at least. Kate aka Acid Burn (Angelina Jolie), a goth-like character, doesn’t like the new intruder invading her turf. But when the forces of evil, in this case represented by another hacker, The Plague (Fisher Stevens), threaten environmental pollution and the hacker name itself, they unite in order to defeat him.
The cinematography is rather interesting. Somewhat dark and in your face, along the lines of a MTV video, it maintains the user’s attention through some of the boring scenes. I thought the special effects were used very well in the movie, even though they weren’t anything terribly fancy.
While Hackers captures the hacker ethic and spirit to some degree, it does not succeed in doing so completely. Still, the movie is quite decent, and definitely worth watching on the big screen. I think Sneakers remains the best computer hacker movie made to date.
"Obsessive, idealistic, often reclusive, always brilliant, they were HACKERS."

Yes there are mountains of them.
Shall I climb on them or let them tumble on me…
Let me see…
If I don’t love and lose how could I know
What true and unconditional love really means…
If I didn’t set you free how could I know
The meaning of freedom and responsibility…
If I didn’t have zero balance in my ATM
How could I value the twenty five centavo coin
I just kick on the way…
If it didn’t rain hard in my heart that almostdrowned me
How could I know that some rain don’t drown
but cleanse…
If I didn’t cry how could I know the glory of laughter
If I didn’t get broken
How could I know what pieces to pick up
and start all over again…
If I didn’t play life’s hard game
How could I survive the pain of living, loving, hurting and healing
If didn’t fall when I tried to reach the sky
How could I ever learn the warmth of hands
that caught me and taught me tha victory fo rising…
Perhaps I shall like my PROBLEMS…

The "professional" critics must has thrown a major crack party the night before this movie’s release and liberally passed around the pipe to each other. Shame on them, I’m sorry but this movie was really really good, from start to finish. This surprised me since there were quite a few people who wrote they were disappointed with the ending. If there was any flaw with the movie it is that Keanu Reeves cannot pretend to cough his lungs out to say his life. For this I deduct two points giving it a 9.8. Other than this he was perfect for the role. I have never seen the comic in which this movie was based on, but maybe some people couldn’t get a blonde haired british guy out of their head for the leading role. I guess ignorance is bliss in this case, nothing to have to compare it too, I just enjoyed what I saw. The strongest points to this movie in order were first the special effects (A++ they were perfect) the story line (cohesively creative, but yet did not take itself too seriously), and finally the acting. The acting though not deeply emotional, it wasn’t suppose to be, the movie had too much camp for that. They did what they were suppose to and it worked. If I had to guess why some critics and fewer amatuer reviewers did not like this film is maybe they A) were offended religiously or B) took this film way too seriously. This film is not ment to make you cry. It about sitting back and enjoying the imagary and having a couple of great laughs, and if you want to push it it could stimulate some to think about the larger spiritual implications this movie points to. Though I highly, highly, recommend seeing this film, it is up to the viewer to have the correct lense to see this films beauty.

This film easily trumps any live-action incarnation we’ve scene of the Dark Knight before, borrowing heavily from both the comics and the Dini and Co. animated series. This is a hard, fast, driving, heartfelt epic that draws you into the character of Bruce Wayne and makes you damn well care. Batman doesn’t play second-fiddle to the villains here like in the other films. It’s his movie and that’s the way it should be.
Much has been said of the film’s "reality" quotient, and I’m here to say it works. Nolan talks about how Batman’s strong because he does push-ups, he gets around because of his gadgets, and by introducing each of them with a plausible explanation, we forget to quibble and go along with it. The technology may be fantastic, but it’s believable. And, unlike the "reality" of something like Daredevil, Nolan doesn’t forget his ideals halfway though and start having Batman wire-jump thirty feet into the air.

Red sun dawn
Guns are drawn
Skull and bones
Beast of war
Father help me stop this
Rush of blood to the head
Look at you I see red
Start this game
I’ll end it
By this hate that you help the world create
I’ve been sent, now repent
I’m the war that comes to you
The plague that follows through
CHORUS
All by myself, I know that I stand here alone
All your lies they feed me
I’m stronger now, stronger now than I was before
There’s no way you can hurt me
Move me
Stop me
Talk too much mutherfucker hush
You had your chance to change things
Move in the direction of right
Choose to set the bar
But then you had to pick a fight
So what’s daddy done for you lately?
Brought you the throne
Like stealing candy from a baby
Line your pockets in mucho dinero
Paid in full with the blood of the people
So now you got the fires rockin’, blood and hate
Then you got the people talking legacy
You will never be forgotten
Your place in history
A black mark in time, a black mark in time
[Repeat CHORUS]
AD LIB
Peace and flowers
Will kill the superpower
The fall of Rome is near
Can’t you hear
It’s been written, it’s been said
The revelations I had read
The signs are here
Those days are over
Walk away from the line
For now is the time
[Repeat CHORUS]
